(re: the Amazon thing) If true, this makes no sense. Sure, use your algorithms to determine what to list _first_, fine. But if I've gone to an author's page it's because I want to find out what books that author has written! Probably because I want to buy some!

Confusing decision. A lot of people look for works not by title, but by creator. Not allowing folks to see what a creator has available for sale seems like a counterintuitive move.

Still digging on this, but: it appears that Amazon has made their Author Pages algorithmic, and they no longer show all of an author's titles. It's definitely hit me. Bezos has not made a formal announcement, but here's a response from KDP to someone. facebook.com/siobhan.muir.3

During the internship, your focus will be on helping us test Mask of the Rose in its last few months of development. Mask of the Rose is a visual novel, but unlike most entries in the genre, the story is extremely responsive to player action, and it has some unusual and intricate systems – the player can assemble outfits that subtly or less subtly shape how others perceive them, and there’s a whole system for crafting stories which players can use to propose a solution to a murder, or to sell tales of romance to London’s shadowy Masters.

These unusual, intricate systems make it an interesting and rewarding game to test. That said, you’ll probably have the best experience if you enjoy games with strong storytelling elements.

You’ll be working closely with our Principal QA Specialist, Lesleyann White. Lesleyann has worked as a tester with half a dozen companies and studios across games and the wider software industry, and for two as a QA training co-ordinator.

This is one of the most gutting cases I've covered. Manhattan DA is prosecuting a domestic violence victim for murder after publicly admitting that he believes it was self-defense. I'd like to tell you about why this case is so egregious, and why you should care.

Most concise/accurate recital of my case: Manhattan D.A. Alvin Bragg campaigned on dropping the homicide charge against Tracy McCarter, a domestic violence survivor who stabbed her husband. Her murder trial begins soon. reason.com/2022/09/02/man via @reason @msolurin @billybinion

that confused feeling when people nominated a whole bunch of characters for a fandom and then... absolutely no one actually requested it?

If you have the Atari ST version of cornerstone that was pirated, now is the time to DM me.

I was hoping it might hold the answer to my own 10-plus-year saga, looking for the leaked Atari ST version of Infocom's Cornerstone, but if it's in there my search technique is lacking. Alas and alack. Looks like a great resource regardless, of course!
