hammUEr’s Tweets

So my main account just got locked for being mean to the spectre of capitalism *again*. It's amazing how quickly (like, 1 minute flat) twitter can react to those, but not to actual threats.

HammUEr and my other plugins still in active maintenance on itch and gumroad should now have updated binaries for 5.0.2

UE5 versions of my plugins *might* start dropping this weekend. No promises. (It's not 100% up to me, either)

Oh, and it'll now also automatically ask if you want to switch to Zero Quake 1 rotation mode when you're trying to import a Valve 220 version style map and don't have this important setting turned on.

You can switch the brush mode back to the original in the compatibility settings. Note that there's also an experimental group BSP option, but in its current stage, do *not* use it for anything more than a handful of brushes. Need to go back to the drawing board for that one.

Back to School editions for 4.26 and 4.27 are now out (very belated, sorry) Featuring: - better(?) rewrite of brush polygons & UV calculation - options now mostly under UE project settings - VTFLib now used for reading/writing images with thanks to @LunaRyuko for those last 2

The 4.27 build of HammUEr will be delayed (hopefully only *slightly*, but at this point I just don't know), as I'm still dealing with hardware problems, and thus haven't been able to finish up the rewrites I was doing.

Christmas versions of 4.25 and 4.26 are now available (phew, made it) Fix highlights include: - Valve 220 UVs - StaticMeshOwner crash - more checks for valid textures on import - Original entity data now in unknown notes - Fixed RGBA16 -> VTF (thanks for spotting it)

A new bug-fix build for 4.25 was pushed that should get rid of a couple of possibly crashes when reimporting the same map file again into the same scene.

Not an April Fools joke! There's a 4.24 "April Tools" build that should now support "Valve 220 format" for Quake 1 maps correctly. Yes, this is a one-off maintenance build, new features will still not be added, and are not planned to be in the future. Sorry.

Because “don’t infringe any copyrights or use stuff from other games” and repeating “your *own*” multiple times was apparently too subtle, these terms of use are now on both itch and gumroad versions of the page.

The 4.22 build is now live on itch & gumroad, featuring a couple of bugfixes and some new code functionality to extend the entity support.

and all 4.20.1 versions of my other plugins should be good to go on 4.20.2 as well without recompiling. Let me know if you do run into anything, though.

And my plugins on the Epic marketplace should now all be updated for 4.20, *finally* Major changes: - SetupUEr had to move its data into the Content due to changes Epic made, so you might have to redo your settings - AutoLightmapUEr fixed the lightmap preview updates

I currently have no machine capable of building my UE plugins, so 4.20 updates will be delayed until next week somewhere. Apologies.

There was a change to the UE string handling API I wasn't aware of, which was causing some importing problems. My apologies. Please download the fixed version of the 4.19 plugin from itch/gumroad.

Question: does anyone actually use any of the runtime or path visualisation classes? Because if nobody uses them... I might as well remove them in the 4.19 update.

New 1.8 build for 4.17 uploaded. Fixes an old bug in the DXT1 decoder, and adds an option to round displacements to integers as well.

Includes cleaner brushmesh generation, more functionality to not replace certain (edited?) meshes when reimporting a map & some fixes.

There'll be a few new things in the upcoming 1.8 update, which'll probably drop early next month sometime.
