this is very nicely stated! we do live in a probabilistic world where uncertainty can be (is?) constantly reduced but not omitted unfortunately

I've spent a lot of time recently thinking about a concept from RL called the Successor Representation. It has a number of nice properties (and links to psych/ neuroscience). For those new to the concept, I wrote an overview/tutorial on it (with code).

interesting work from . is this suggesting a non-linear L2-norm readout? curious to know what it implies about the nature of representations and information read-out!

how confident you are about sth affects how much you are willing to change your mind. In a social context this is referred to as informational conformity. shows that in such a case confidence is "replayed" in the brain as both the private & social info integrate

for example Kamitani & Tong had the "slight biases" conjecture which was followed by other alternative explanations. what is the source of signal here? is there any theoretical limit for the sort of signals we can get in fMRI? can these be found in single voxels too? 2/2)

fMRI experts: I read this when it first appeared on . they find neural correlates of signals that are in the orders of 100 ms!it reminded me of the so called hyper acuity for orientation decoding. is there an explanation of "why" this could be achieved w BOLD? 1)
