I tend to think the great schism is between government action and AI safety. Governments are working on bias, but AI safety concerns alignment.

Me in my twenties: I don't understand why my mom knows 50s, 60s, 70s, and 2000s movies, but none from the 80s or 90s.
Me now that I have a kid: I know *exactly* why my mom doesn't know any movies from the 80s or 90s.
