But doesn’t that hold for any management position in a larger institution - no matter if you are the owner or not?
Every week I am reminded that I once quipped: "The great thing about starting your own business is that you will learn *so many things*. The only problem is that these will all be things you never wanted to learn." - perhaps I have never spoken truer words.

I don't know. I certainly learnt less about things as a manager at Google, but that is compensated by the fact that the things I learned I even more strongly preferred to not learn.

As a fellow business owner I agree. But the upside is that most things you do learn end up tremendously useful. I’ve grown a lot since setting sail with my own ship. Seems others do too.
