Made the mistake of reading Orange Site comments for about 4 minutes. Ran into someone that "had never heard of using a country's exports" in relation to a discussion about competitiveness. Symptom of the overall level of economic literacy in tech?

And here’s a wonderful post by OpenSMTPD’s main developer : Very interesting insight on how a bug enters the code and becomes exploitable over time.

This project is a great example of how Sybil attacks can be performed using large numbers of real devices. No reverse engineering of mobile apps nor programming nor hacking is required. Do the math on the cost of cheapest device you support and profit.

Watching a toddler play, it is fascinating how much of toddler play is really "setting oneself new challenges and failing until one succeeds". Playing at that age seems to be almost pure learning.

With all it's deficiencies and it's untimely death, BinNavi did have the prettiest and most satisfying code-as-graph UI. Neither IDA nor Ghidras graphs are very usable, and I miss Navi's UI every time I read assembly.

Having intentionally steered clear of all things RE in the last year or so, I am positively surprised by GTIRB etc. -- good stuff :-)

Dear AV-hacking followers: Does anyone have a closed-source 64-bit linux command line AV scanner? I am teaching at a local uni and need a fun exercise.

I spent way too much time manually annotating the Kernel dumped from this Sonos device. This morning I realised I could just dump kallsyms from the target and automatically mark all procedures - including setting their names - with about 60 lines of Python. I am not a smart man.

I was deployed in Afghanistan and under constant threat of land mines. I saw men, women and children who were injured by land mines. Land mines are one of the worst weapons and should be banned without exception.

I love math. In all earnestness how difficult it is to have a nice canonical naming convention and the absurdity that causes is genuinely a joy to me.

It is an interesting possibility that the last manned air-to-air combat between humans *may* be in the past.
