Interesting but according to Colquhoun p=0.05 is associated with a false positive risk of 30-70% depending on the prior probability of a real effect - even without N-Hacking (see Web Calculator and )

Beautiful Cell-paper by Maarten Kole's laboratory on how saltatory conduction in myelinated axons really works. E-phys, EM, voltage imaging, and modeling show saltation across time and space!

I am excited to receive an ERC Consolidator Grant for our project to better understand presynaptic plasticity by combining patch-clamp recordings & super-resolution microscopy at small boutons. This would not have been possible without the fantastic team members & collaborations!

Wonderful imaging! What I find amazing is that the heart is composed of only a relatively small number of cells at that point, and still, it works! Biology is wonderful.

ALFA-tag- highly versatile tool for nanobody-based bioscience applications. A rationally designed aa sequence that is devoid of residues targeted by amine-reactive fixatives or cross-linkers, forms a stable α-helix that spontaneously refolds. Looks great!

We discovered gradients in the biophysical properties of cerebellar granule cells that enable a Fourier-like transformation of broadband mossy fiber input. Similar mechanisms might operate in other brain areas. Thank you all for the collaborative effort!

Our eLife paper is online now - thank you all for your effort! We show that HCN channels in central axons can mediate neuromodulation by controlling action potential conduction velocity and the maximal failure-free firing frequency.
