To be fair it's not clear if this is personal data, it's browser data associated with a device - if that can be tied to a person then yeah maybe that's personal. Not seen evidence myself that this is the case. All pixel data I get as an advertiser is totally anonymous.

FB has confirmed that it holds Pixel data about
@podehaye, just that it is too hard to give it to him. advertisers may not be able to re-id the data, but FB can -
Interested to know if
@podehaye wrote the same letter to Google? The pixel is just trying to emulate Google Analytics code. There's a fascinating reason why. Google doesn't represent FB traffic fairly in analytics, so FB is building out its own so advertisers can report success. -
i believe he did, and that he actually got some data from Google, but perhaps he'll chime in himself

Last comment. Pixel data is the most astoundingly enabling tool for small businesses. If you don't want a world where only Coca Colas have a chance on the playing field, to reach the world, the right people... then please stay as informed as possible on what these tools enable.

I don't think anyone is denying it's useful for businesses...

And for customers.

that the tech is powerful and useful is all the more reason that its custodians have a duty to tell people how the tech is processing them, imo

Do you know if they still have the clause in terms and conditions about reading all other open tabs if you have Facebook open in the same browser? I poked around in my data download and didn’t notice that.

That is not the worst thing FB does. In Finland FB moderators block systematically profiles based on political views, even they meet FB community standards. This violates Finnish constitution and freedom of speech. Zuck told yesterday FB does not do that or even planning to.
