Another great step forward from the team building out the fundamentally missing piece of the jigsaw to truly re-decentralise the web.

is a monumental game changer
The missing piece of the puzzle linking all the crypto networks together as well as expanding to all centralised networks
Let that sink in

In short, this is exactly why we created the Ambients protocol: to decouple users, data and applications from the platforms. Learn more about Ambients from ambients.org

"Protocols, not platforms" 🔥 knightcolumbia.org/content/protoc. We've presented the gist of it in the Ambients whitepaper, but does much better job in their article to dig deep into why we're in trouble with the platform-thinking!

I want to set up a sattelite meeting at #devcon on formal methods in Blockchain. Talk language design, tools, models, principled ways to do audits, etc. Ideally an hour or two with just people doing it, no audience, maybe put out a small paper/blogpost after. Who should I invite?

Last weekend, we hosted our first #StackZero sessions, an invite-only one-day unconference ahead of #BerlinBlockchainWeek. Thanks to , , and other leading minds building tomorrow’s #decentralized infrastructures for making it a successful event!

Most importantly, is a meeting place for brilliant people, sharing ideas and visions of the web, at the beautiful venue (❤️ the architecture!), so it's hard to _not_ be excited! 🙂
We hope to meet many old friends and make new ones, so see you there!

Also, we'd love to discuss more what Ambients, the distributed computation protocol, means and how having safe interoperability between apps and networks benefits everyone in the decentralized web:

How the protocol primitives and computation abstractions look like in such process algebra, see the examples at github.com/ambientsprotoc, with the instructions on how to run the simulations yourself. Enjoy! 🙂

The simulated program is equivalent to JavaScript expression "'hello' + 'world'" as function application.
It will eventually reduce to a deterministic result, which is equivalent to JS expression "'helloworld'", no matter how randomly the circles bounce during execution.

The visualization - recorded with Ambicobjs-tool, which simulates ambients, reductions, and non-determinism with bouncing circles moving around - beautifully shows the deterministic behavior of an Ambients program in a non-deterministic distributed system.

In Ambients protocol, all the protocol primitives and computation abstractions are defined in terms of ambients and their reduction rules.
They ensure that all Ambients programs reduce to a deterministic end result.

The Ambients protocol builds on a formal model of distributed computation called ambient calculus en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ambient_c
Ambient calculus is a process algebra, in which the computations are evaluated by applying reduction rules on concurrent processes called ambients.

This is one of the clearest explanations of a vision for that future paradigm that I've seen and what is required to deliver it. Congrats to , and the whole team for articulating this, I am loving your work.
