"Flipping the script" here produces nonsense not praxis. The underlying power dynamic behind makeup etc is that women are expected to spend way more time, money, and energy on their appearance than men.

Purely selfishly, I wouldn't mind if men wasted their money, time and comfort on looking more decorative about the place. Politically of course I would have to object but selfishly: bring it on, lads.

It'd be fine if more men felt encouraged and empowered to beautify themselves, and that's been a bit of a trend for a while now, but it doesn't really address what that post was about. I think it's that we we're not made to feel constantly judged and objectified.
