The youth is indispensable to economic transformation. Government will harness the demographic dividend by mobilizing initiatives in favor of young people. Vocational education and training, including small business development will remain a priority. Young people are the future.

Mr President! It’s inevitable that young people are the future, so my question is what is government doing to prepare the youth to take over this country? I am afraid not much is being done, it’s all cheap talk!😏

You can't claim "youth is indispensable to economic transformation" when they are made to feel dispensable in your administration. You can't claim "Young people are the future" if indeed every position of note in GRN & private sector is occupied by somber, energyless old people.pic.twitter.com/nF2tY2Ajfw

We will need to revisit vocational training. The knowledge economy requires a different kind of vocational skill. Students need to be able to code and use computers in order to fix cars and machinery, because they have all been computerized. The era of nuts and bolts has passed.

"Young people are the future"... yet the budget allocation to the Ministry of Youth particularly for NYC and NYS are significantly reduced ? 🤔

Then our President needs to walk the talk, empower young people, in different avenues, so that they design and prepare the future they seek and aspire. Sports and arts are part of the avenues our government has vehemently neglected, let young earn a living from sports.

We understand that we are the future but why are we having a plastic manufacturing plant being opened in Namibia for what and for which future. We must ban the use of plastics, all countries are doing it, why are we going backwards.

We need to move from an empoyee mindset to an entrepreneurial mindset. A paycheck is not the answer for the growth of the our economy!

Young people are normally the future ONLY when it is months before the elections. To empower young people, just give them free access to capital for them to start their own businesses.

We need to revisit our basic education.Nam can really b the brain hub of Africa selling services. Diversifying our economy from commodity goods into services as well. Our population advantage is that we can take care of every citizen thru quality holistic education=innovation.

I agree the youth must be participating in the economy by making a valuable contribution via a good work ethic and ongoing skills development programs. More must be done to celebrate excellence in workplace and that does not mean just higher compensation , recognition is vital

VET is the way forward for Namibia. Companies should stop importing Artisans and make use of Namibians. It's not true that Namibian have no skills. NASFAF should start funding Artisans that want to become specialists with short courses in their respective Trades.
