In 's #rstudioconf {ggtrace} talk yesterday, he made the excellent point that in complex ggplot2 layers you often must specify things out-of-order from the way data flows in ggplot2 internals, and this can be hard to reason about twitter.com/yjunechoe/stat relevant slide:
Slide from June Choe's ggtrace presentation, showing use of ggplot2::stage() and ggplot2::after_stat() in a complex specification, and how where things are specified are not in order relative to data processing steps.

So sad that itโ€™s all over but #RStudioConf was simply a fantastic experience. It was my first conference (and my first conference talk..) but I survived and made many friends in the process. I also couldnโ€™t be prouder to be part of such an inclusive community ๐Ÿ‘

For those of you excited about Python for Shiny (announced just now at #RstudioConf), I GOT TO HELP DEVELOP EXAMPLE APPS and Iโ€™m going to be talking about it a lot now that Iโ€™m FINALLY ALLOWED TO. One of my apps is even a featured example on the website! shiny.rstudio.com/py/

Shiny personally revamped my interest in building cool shit during grad school. โ€™s awesome keynote reinforced my feelings about how awesome the R community is. Iโ€™m also super stoked about Shiny for Python, โ€œthe second best language for everythingโ€ ๐Ÿ ๐Ÿ˜ #rstudioconf2022
