Also, I’m teaching CSD Unit 2 right now to sixth graders. Lesson 9 = links. Took them about five minutes to learn that “complex code”.

A bizarre ruling, and hopefully not precedent setting. It seemingly creates a new quagmire in the area of linked copyrighted content, and to your point, feels like an uninformed legal stance to take. (btw, ignorany works- coders push boundaries, so why not with language too?

This brings to bear a question with an answer I’d love to hear: with no disrepect intended to anyone serving our gov’t, who among the set of all elected officals (at local, state, and federal levels) can demonstrate even a rudimentary understanding of what “coding” is???
