No worries. I’m not trying to be hostile either. I agree democracy often gets subverted. That’s not the case here. CS is an example of a great idea spreading like wildfire because of global, near-unanimous, nonpartisan support from all walks.
Americans should be proud that our country is a world leader in CS — it’s rare for other countries to look to the U.S. for leadership in K-12 education. And we should be proud of our public institutions for acting behind such a unifying cause.

Not seen an analysis of K12 CS Ed between countries. Would be fascinated to see one! My sense is that Israel, Germany, and New Zealand are ahead of US in terms of reach (schools/students with access), teacher professional development programs, and # of teachers.

Many countries are ahead of US in teaching CS, especially Estonia and Vietnam. But most look to U.S. orgs for leadership in this space, and most use curriculum or learning platforms developed in U.S.
