Additional context: (1) the dept of ed issue has a public comment period. 3/4 of ALL public comments they received on education priorities asked for even more priority on CS. (2)
@codeorg has strongly opposed the $9b in cuts, which haven’t materialized.1 reply 0 retweets 1 like -

If your narrative were correct, there would have been an outpouring of public complaints about redirecting $ to CS. Instead, the opposite happened, 3/4 of all public comments to Dept of Ed asked to prioritize CS more, because the Ed guidance fell short on this.

Like any other educator I’m just as unhappy about education cuts proposed to Congress. Those cuts appear unlikely based on Senate response. And yes there are some folks unhappy about prioritizing CS but they’re a small minority per the public comments to Ed.

I agree context matters, so please consider the additional context. Survey after survey shows parents broadly want CS taught. Public comments to dept of Ed demand even more redirection of funding. No widespread examples exist of failures/complaints due to CS.
