As basic apps get easier each year, the need to teach how to use them drops. A student who learns CS can learn how to use apps. Not vice versa. I couldn't disagree more with the report's conclusion that we should teach kids apps over CS.

This is a great passionate reminder of important arguments of scaling up CS instruction for many more people. In fact the first strategy priority of our report is exactly about expanding the higher-end IT / CS pipeline. We applaud the whole state/school district CS push!

I totally agree many, many more people need to learn much more CS. My suggestion is that we need to open up a second front that much more broadly expands entry-level IT instruction / certification to get more aligned know-how to more working people and the underrepresented
