The best way to learn coding is to start with what problem you want to solve. Merely going to http://code.org or KA is rarely useful

http://Code.org is not a curriculum, nor is it exciting or motivating for the vast majority of students.
@dandersod is there any data you're basing this statement on? Teachers often tell us it's their most engaging course.

@hadip Just personal experience as a programming teacher. Knowledge without student interest is a much more difficult sell. Doesn’t stick. -
