@hadip although it's one important piece, focusing solely on pipeline blatantly disregards our industry's horrendous retention issues
@triketora I *ABSOLUTELY* agree. But I don't think you can fix unconscious bias without changing the pipeline.
@triketora Agree. When I've written about this in >140 chars I mention both. The workplace has blatant B.S. but also deep unconscious bias.
@hadip @triketora unconscious bias is part of the retention problem too. It's worth experimenting with structured approaches to reduce it.
@haacked @triketora I doubt anybody disputes that. My focus is K-12 pipeline because I think 2M girls coding helps reduce unconscious bias
@hadip @triketora I admire your efforts. But programming was primarily a woman's job in the past, but systemic changes pushed them out.
