Unfortunately, the satellites will not be able to maintain enough laser connections for this to be a viable option for populated areas. I was really bummed when @elonmusk said StarLink is not practical for cities. :-(

It's not about the laser connections, it's about the available radio bandwidth. If they had more radio frequencies they could use, they could add more satellites and cover NYC, but they would have to take everyone else's bandwidth lol
