One thing I love about the new AP Computer Science Principles exam is that it’s not a typical test. You submit a portfolio you created throughout the year. It measures your creativity. It can help students “unlearn” the problems of test-prep education culture.

One of the things I struggled with as a CTE Computer Programming teacher was finding a pre-defined test (previously it was NOCTI which was VB-centric) and CS Principles was still new and the admin didn’t support me finding something that would work with creative coding.
