Finally you’ve mentioned the great work from several of the women on your team many of whom which I’ve had the pleasure of meeting. Real talk? Seems like a missed opportunity NOT to give them the platform to rep for http://code.org especially on this issue.
When I tell our story, I don't focus on my financial success, I focus on being an Iranian immigrant and the challenges with that. The pressure of editing left out a large part of what I say. I always talk about other organizations in our space as well.

My interview lasted ~ 1 hour. The parts that made it lasted 4 minutes. I don't remember specifically if I did or didn't uplift specific orgs, but I'm sure I spoke about the CS community at large because I regularly do.

But I do know that our head of marketing spoke with 60 minutes about other organizations too. We knew LittleBits was part of the feature. We knew they had also spoken to GirlsWhoCode. This wasn't a process where we chose the story, we provided our part and saw the end result.

We’ve spoken about this several times before privately. But even as an Iranian immigrant in the tech space you still enjoy a certain white male privilege which cannot be compared to the narratives of women and other poc in this space and many others.

Of course!!! My point wasn't that. It's that even on this point the narrative was not what I usually say. I usually talk about suffering through a war, coming to the country poor, etc. I said that during my interview. Cut in edits.
