It was an honor to share the @60Minutes spotlight on Closing the Gender Gap with women in leadership such as @PlutonForEver or @vkajones, or women-led orgs such as @littlebits (run by the amazing @ayahbdeir) and @MarymountNY (run by Concepcion Alvcar).https://www.cbsnews.com/news/closing-the-gender-gap-in-the-tech-industry-60-minutes/?ftag=CNM-00-10aab7d&linkId=64302398 …

I want to call out Alexis Dixon, the 4th grade teacher from Brooklyn who chose to teach CS in her classroom with
@codeorg. She represents 1 MILLION teachers, mostly women, who lead the movement for CS in schools. You, ALL of you, are the STARS of this showhttps://twitter.com/60Minutes/status/1102370248286715906 …Hadi Partovi added,

The global movement for equitable access and participation in CS is possible thanks to the work of hundreds of organizational leaders, most of whom are women. To name just a few:

@somegoodideas@SReberry@stateofrelate@superCompSci@szircher@TaraChk@tina_granato@vidcode@VTSikka@6Gems All these women and more (including many I couldn't find on Twitter), and the men who work alongside you as allies, are together changing the face of computing.

And a list like this wouldn't be fair without mentioning the women who RUN
@codeorg, especially@AliceSteinglass, our President, who deserves far more attention than she receives for her incredible work. It's a joy to work in an office whose staff and leadership are mostly women.3 replies 11 retweets 88 likesShow this thread
On a personal note, my mother, Farideh, an Iranian computer scientist who showed me my first mainframe computer when I was 5, has been behind me and my twin + co-founder @apartovi at every step. Farideh is so very proud of her twins today. Happy #WomensHistoryMonth to all.
