With something like fast food and so many American businesses the motive seems to be profit not creating more jobs so we'll only get jobs as a side effect. Could be better could be worse. Hope for the best, expect the worst.
I agree with you & @LathCarlson that job increases will be a side effect of capitalist economy as a whole: while indiv businesses use new tech to reduce labor costs, new tech also creates new opportunities for labor productivity that didn’t exist, creating entirely new businesses
