If we tout 15M girls on @codeorg doesn’t mean that’s all we do. But it’s a great headline to show that our impact is at national scale. Meanwhile, it appears you’re skeptical of our underlying impact despite our record-breaking participation numbers? If so, why?
I believe in educating on principle not data
But don’t you also believe in using data to make education decisions or to measure impact?
Either way I strongly agree the reason to teach CS isn’t just jobs. Besides foundation for adulthood, it can systemically address inequities in tech. (But I doubt teachers want CS class to address racism/sexism totally unrelated to tech. Guessing that wasn’t your intent either)
