John, as a loud proponent of teaching CS in schools, I’d like to point out, the movement has never been about teaching everybody to “code.” It’s to teach “computer science”: algorithms, data science, machine learning / AI, cyber security, robotics, & even ethics of tech.

No it has ALWAYS been about teaching everyone to code in the last 15 years that has been the case. I started coding in the mid 80's we were taught to code it was scrappy and bad things happened
