There was no Google when I started. We had manuals. IBM manuals. Which were not the best.

There was no Google when I started with UNIX, but in those days both the manual and the source code were small enough and clear enough to understand. The modern muddle of mudpies is not an improvement.

Remember pressed dead trees? In school I had to use them for POSIX C system libraries. Google wasn’t shit then. You had Altavista and you liked it.
