That is a real shame. I feel it's wrong to collectively force everyone who had been looking forward to this for weeks and months into 24/7 mourning. We are all very sad, but that should not mean we should all be forced to abandon what little joy we find elsewhere. Especially kids

People forget that they are in this country thanks to Queen. Before you attack me, I am from a minority group, my parents came to this country in 1991. Respect the culture.

A sad decision. I’m guessing if it went ahead, that would be judged badly by the press. But I wish you had the nerve to put young people and community spirit first.

Why do sporting, cultural and arts events have to suffer when everyone is still expected to go into work? This is madness and will cost small independent businesses and artists hugely.

You should fully reimburse everyone who spent money on this event. Nothing about national mourning mandates people to swallow financial hardship, I think it’s especially important now during this cost of living crisis.

This is a poorly thought out decision which will unfortunately have a lot of negative consequences for local businesses. I hope there is plans to set up official process for applying for some sort of compensation

Saddened for all the time, effort, passion and money normal people would have ploughed into the Hackney carnival. Hoping there is full compensation and a new date
