Numbers that can be used to track how message is received are the ultimate n-words. If other people can point to likes, thumbs, shares etc and make claims based on those, it's uncomfortable to people who sell unpopular ideas but act like these ideas are universally accepted.

Not selling any kind of conspiracy here. Basically people don't like when "nazis" can point out that if what you're saying wasn't horse shit, account with gazillion subs would get more likes than four. It's bad because you can't really say "well it seems all my subs are nazis".

Even tho I said likes and subs, you can substitute it with any metric. Dislikes are bullying, mentioning followers, likes, what ever can be used as a tool to bully too. This is the official reason I assume. They do these to make their platform more welcoming and inclusive.
