You should read today's Cell paper about CCR5 and the human brain.
Did you look at the human part? It's a candidate-gene hit (p=0.01 or 0.03!) in n=446 in a half-Ashkenazi cohort where the Ashkenazi have more CCR (hmmm.....) with a whole bunch of endpoints tested. And as usual, why didn't the SNP or exome IQ GWASes find it before if it's real?

I don't know about standard SNP arrays but CCR5 is a protein-coding gene and shouldn't that be picked up in any exome study? So either way.
