re genetic correlation: rgs are silent about causation direction. If genes~>myopia~>IQ or myopia<~IQ<~genes or myopia<~genes~>IQ, all would produce an rg. What's inconsistent with myopia~>IQ is stuff like East Asian myopia rates, light-signaling enrichment, & MR:

I didn't say that only myopia~>IQ! It seems to me that in *addition* to IQ~>myopia, the opposite is also at least somewhat plausible
