Nowadays they have a market economy, yet they retain highly centralized control of communism to have quick control over a big country. Well done.. On the other hand, people aren't free.

The centralized control looks like communism but it’s not. Its spirit comes from ancient china when emperors tried to control a big kingdom. Also there’s different mindset towards “freedom”. Just remember majority of Chinese ppl support their government. That says something.
