Good article this. With an entire nation in lockdown, a free to air test series could set up the 2021 season well (so long as Boris doesn’t give us the ‘vector of disease’ nonsense again)

I agree with much of this but it’s worth considering that since ‘05, England have won more Ashes series than lost, same v India, won the T20 World Cup, the ODI World Cup, the Women’s team have won the T20 World Cup & the ODI World Cup twice. Are you sure it’s been that bad?

Even extended highlights for C4 would be acceptable but Live is better

Why have Sky not bid for it? Budget issues?

A fallout with the BCCI and wanting to focus on grabbing the Australia rights from BT for The Ashes.

“Fifteen seconds to live”. What an opening line, yet again. Also, “Getting the old gang together for one last job” and “the traditional mid column lull”. Column writing doesn’t get any better than this. Brilliant work.

Excellent piece that Jonathan. Listened to the final word pod series on commentary over the last few weeks and the enthusiasm which Mark Sixarrr Nicholas talks is still a boyish one which makes me smile. When is decision due? So glad they released the full conversation. BTW decision on who has the rights expected any time from now. Currently covering against any potential bids from Sky (unlikely), BT (less unlikely) before an announcement can be made tomorrow at the earliest.
