I'm flabbergasted that this happened, and wasn't headline news.

Should we not see the past / current Post Office executives brought to book for using corrupt data that they knew was questionable to jail some of these innocent people?

Nearly 900 submasters were caught up in this travesty and it didn't *once* occur to the Post Office that there might be an IT problem? And then the PO was able to sit as judge and jury in these 'trials'. This whole affair is absolutely shocking on so many levels.

That’s the scandal. They knew and were told there was a problem. They knew they were prosecuting dozens and dozens for the same offences but told each of them they were a unique case. It’s just awful.

Genuinely one of the biggest legal scandals in our history. Absolutely shameful but a superb victory for campaigning journalism.

As the PO was owned by the government (us) shouldn’t the government of the day also be in the dock ?

The PO management who eventually knew but kept denying the software was faulty, while allowing prosecutions to continue, should be named, shamed and sent to prison.
