@gte It doesn’t solve the same problem. There’s a reason why even Lisp has a formatting micro language even though it has great quoting.
Swift string interpolation is as close to perfect as I think one could get. So much better than the C style microlanguage of format strings.

@gte Is there a localization feature I missed? Without that, it’s close to useless. -
@gte I think they still need to add a way to include dictionary items, single quotes, or escaping the quotes etc, so "\(dict["key"])" works. -
@gte maybe if it could actually do number formatting; right now it's the worst possible implementation. -
@gte .NET 4.6 has some nice new string interpolation as well
