Maybe so. But remember what Romney said about Trump in the early going in ‘16. Strikingly similar to what he’s saying now.

Right. Re-read George’s tweet. Romney’s worst fears abt Trump have proven correct. This isn’t hard, Brit.
-
And he waited until after he won the Senate seat to say so? Because it was pretty clear hundreds of days ago that Trump was a dumpster fire, and yet nary a word from Willard.
-
No he actually was quite vocal.

The saddest chapter in the history books will be about “the enablers” — the once great conservative champions who made the fateful decision to rationalize and minimize behavior they deep down found to be absolutely repugnant.
-
Perhaps they were never great to begin with...
-
“Great” has become a relative adjective. I look forward to a return to standard English.

That's crap, Mitt goes as the wind blows or at least how his pockets get lined. He always has. No one with a single shred of integrity could sign the MA healthcare law, see all the good it did, and then shit on it because it was politically convenient.
-
You’re talking about “RomneyCare” ?

-
Romneycare was awesome and I agree with the OP's sentiments entirely. He ran Romneycare in MA so he could use this accomplishment to run for pres. Then the GOP shit all over it bc Obama used it as a model for Obamacare. Sucks to solve problems in ways your greedy friends hate.
-
As a resident of Mass, I completely agree — RmnetCare is indeed awesome. Romney’s denial of it is one of his biggest “flip-flops”.

Or maybe Romney is just Jeff Flake or Ben Sasse and despite his oral protestations, he'll do as every other Republican does when called to the mat and roll over for Trump and his agenda.
-
Flake did do something meaningful in the very end...refusing to approve judges until Mueller was protected. Not enough and too late, but he gets a little partial credit.
-
At no cost to him. It's fine, but don't pretend it was brave.
-
Agreed, not brave. But it was a little action.

I’m a Ronald Reagan Republican and I can honestly say Trump has failed America , His Wife & His Family . I was willing to overlook his cheating on his wife and immoral character . Trump Is also a clear failure in business . The Russians & Saudis bailouts kept The Trumps floating
-
■■ Thank you Utah for NOTHING! This Never-Trumper couldn’t beat a community organizer for President, yet he’s got all the answers. Do we need another Jeff Flake in the Swamp? When will
#Romney write about the character of David, Moses and Paul?https://www.foxnews.com/politics/incoming-sen-romney-trump-hasnt-risen-to-the-mantle-of-presidency … -
What is it with you dismissing community organizing and activism as a way to serve our country? What do you think the government must work for? For whose interests? Isn’t it ultimately a government for the common good? Your perspective and that of those who hold it is misguided.

Gene here is a Russian bot that’s copying and pasting and blasting this same message everywhere. Russia hasn’t stopped its interference for the sake of their asset trump, you know.
-
Yes, thanks for the heads up. I figured that much after I saw all that copying and pasting. However, that dismissiveness is widely held by republicans.
