I was probably too old to really appreciate 3d games the same way younger folks do when they finally started coming out. I remember too vividly the first 3-d games like Echelon and the early PS1 stuff... generally bad impression of 3d.

2-5 are all solid choices, but Rampage is a little surprising. It’s a lot of fun, but for me it got old after a while.

it was one of the first games I ever really enjoyed, I used to play hours of it in EGA graphics on a Dell Dimension 286 PC, sometimes against my brother (I think there was a competitive scoring mode)
