1 billion hours of video today...ten times what Netflix does. Fun fact. If @Cloudflare could handle it [and not withstanding enterprise pricing], you could pull those numbers for about $600,000 (Netflix) to $6 million (Youtube) a year (not including storage and whatnot).

Storage is cheap, too. At $5 per 1000 minutes per pay period, that's about $8000 for Netflix's entire catalogue. Figure ten times that for Youtube (I have no idea how much they've got).

network effects tho, dominate the ability of youtube celebs to garner enough pennies to make a dime... it's a winner takes all world of middle class income. The better timeline included smash TV in my reckoning
