Maybe the Moscow/Constantinople feud will get so bad that they both appeal to Rome for a resolution. That would be beneficial for everyone involved, including Rome.

Frankly, my impression is that it wouldn't happen even if St. Peter were pope. At this point any significant step like this toward reconciliation will literally require a miracle.

Well, he's an emperor, they don't really have to "accept" him, ya see. But in this democratic era, a real emperor would take a miracle.
