It wasn’t a dispute between two churches. Their is a canonical church, and then a schismatic body created by a defrocked ex bishop.

To which the EP stated they were a canonical church independent of Russia and the ROC won't accept the ruling of the EP.

Ultimately it will fall out how it will fall out. People forget that for most of the 20th century Russia was out of communion due to Soviet control. But I guess I wasn't alive then so how could I remember that
