The natural man walks by sight and trusts what he sees to be true; trusts that the material world is all there is; etc. Just as you will serve Mammon or God, you will have faith in one or the other.
this isn't a type of faith though, there is no exercise of the will towards trust - this is the fruit of habit and experience. I understand that atheists do end up acquiring faith in metaphysical claims dressed up as "not such", the "not such" being why they believe.

The will being exercised is what takes faith from natural mode to theological virtue (or vice). But a simple faith in e.g. the truthfulness of the appearance of things doesn't require an exercise of will. Habit, experience, yes, and faith in them.
