    Yes. But also know that these 2 kids were in the custody of Border Patrol, not ICE—a different DHS agency. A senior member of and a long-time subcommittee chairman like King really should know that. He should also know ICE has a bad record of custodial deaths.

    The Democrats would only need to get 3 new supporters on the R side to be able to override a filibuster. Of course, McConnell would have to bring it up and he was a no vote in 2013. But in addition to those noted above, several Rs up in purple states in 2020 who might be yesses.

    Assuming there are no vote changes and assuming new Senators since 2013 vote along with the majority in their party (i.e. new Democrats vote yes and new Republicans vote no), the vote would be 57 yes to 43 no (versus 68-32 in 2013).

    Quick takeaways: 1. The 8-year-old Guatemalan boy was detained for 7 days before dying. 2. When 1st detained he was not sick. 3. During the 7 days, he was held & transferred between 4 different detention centers. 4. None of ’s “new actions” includes *not jailing* children.
