Happy to see our paper on production of MIAs in N. benthamiana out led work to identify enzymes that derivatize pathway intermediates, made gene-edited plants that gave more favorable product profiles & reconstituted strictosidine biosynthesis.

Our latest research has just been published today in the journal Nature. We engineered yeast to produce the cancer therapeutic vinblastine. You can find the work here: nature.com/articles/s4158. It is the longest biosynthetic pathway ever refactored into yeast.
