“and others”. I may die on this hill. Don’t even get me started about the font/format change.... Interesting that they are taking twitter surveys before emailing the editors

And others. Why would change from saying that in the language the rest of the manuscript is in to now decide that in 2019 we should be saying that in Latin? Why not use Esperanto instead?

I voted to keep "and others". I don't give a shit if it's incorrect because it doesn't follow whatever dumb format; it's cool and unique.

It’s not incorrect. “Et alia” means....”and others”. I’d much prefer having abstracts written in German, French, and English before we move to et al. One increasing accessibility (putting words into native languages); one decreases (putting words into no one’s native language).
