With the advent of Intel microcode updates every second-Tuesday of the month, I've been hearing from a few people that they're not seeing the benefits of rebootless update services lately (as they're having to reboot more frequently). Is this (or not) your experience?

Within the past 5 - 10 years, I've seen very little value in 'rebootless' services regardless -- I expect services that require high availability to have a highly available architecture. Rebootless is novel/neat, but I can't say important.

Redundancy is what you want these days for serious infra anyway, and for resiliency, you always want to be able to power cycle an entire fleet of servers. That's like backup/restore. "Rebootless" should come from architecture instead of being literal imho.
