Potential founders who are afraid of you "stealing their idea" are surreal to me. Ten people in the space already have your idea, I guarantee it. The game is to be the first to get the pieces together needed to build it, and to do that you need to start talking to people.

People have no idea 1) how insanely hard it is to go zero-one ,and 2) having an idea is most definitely zero

no one is going to steal your idea for a novel
execution is everything

ive never heard of anyone coming up independently with my startups biz model.. but the point is even if they did, or i simply told it to them, they likely wouldnt be capable of implementing it or would be better off to just partner w me

That's the other half - if you're capable of having a unique idea in a space it's probably because you're knowledgeable enough to do it. Telling me won't make me turn on my magic company maker, I know nothing about third world finance or whatever.

ppl that have few ideas and have never built something believe that they are rare and precious, gems to be hoarded. real ones give them away like free popcorn

Can't tell you the amount of times I've rolled my eyes when a founder wanted me to sign an NDA
