Starting to be able to more confidently do data manipulation in unix w/ grep awk etc..
I hate this language lol but so needed for bioinformatics.

I've been coding professionally for five plus years and have never written my own grep command, only things I've copy pasted from stackoverflow

I use stackoverflow a lot but sometimes it’s useful to know things so you do it more quickly. If you use it a lot you start remembering commands anyway

I’ve been professionally manipulating data for like a decade. The only people who manipulate data in the terminal also have body odor issues. Just use Python or R. (I’m kidding, do what you want, it’s all good)

very based. grep is super easy. awk is guru shit, literally don’t even know how it works, just know it does some crazy shit with arguments
