Why’d these features get dropped? Overfitted for specific use cases? People prefer slightly lower price tags? Ultra specific white good features feel like a design motif from the 50s that died out pretty quickly. Idk why twitter.com/TheFigen/statu

Everyone seems to think its cool but it all looks annoying as hell to me. Too many finicky moving parts to break. There is no way those hinges were rated for 10 years of use.

Probably true. I wonder if that became a popular meme at some point in the mid 60s that shifted the designs to a simpler place.
