So what's the dealio with UK PMs being forced to resign? Seems like there's no official mechanism for the party to take him out. So if everybody hates him they just ride into the next election together and get killed for being so insanely divided?

Vote of no confidence takes place either within the party or parliament, a general election is called or ultimately the head of state has to remove them.

Vote of no confidence already taken place few months ago iirc. Must wait 6 months from when that took place before another can be called, I believe.

41% of the party voted against him in the Vote of No confidence last month. He must maintain at least >50% support. Tories threated a rule change allowing them to cast another VNC against Theresa May, so instead she resigned. They are threatening Boris with the same thing now.

I hope he stays on and runs them into the ground tbh. Only way the party might have a reality check and drop the liberals within the party. History says they wont, but a man can dream.
