If privacy is a convincing product feature then that vertical is completely out of alpha. Boring as fuck feature. The minute somebody thinks of something actually interesting to build in the space, you're dead.

I’m a big fan of all the examples I can think of but I guess they’re kind of proving your point, like text messages and browsers, where privacy was basically end of the line
As a modular add-on it doesn’t get much love. Everyone uses email, nobody uses PGP
