I really didn't expect them to make Macbook Air 30% thinner. That's insane.

And going from 2.8 lb -> 2.7 lb. Obviously would have loved more of a weight reduction but I'm sure this thing feels like a million bucks in your hands with that kind of density.

There's something magnificent about something being thin and heavy. It feels like you're holding gold. Tungsten cube bois understand.

opposite for me
i want the thing I carry around everyday to feel solid but feature light, not a slab of luxury metal I can use as a blunt instrument

Nah the performance gains are good but not mind blowing. The jump from intel -> m1 is wayyy bigger than m1 -> m2
But that form factor I just wow
Also does Sony have a sub 2 notebook? All I found was this incredibly shitty marketing image for the vaio z

Not anymore but back in the day circa original air ‘08 (SJ used Sony ultrabook on a slide to position Air as best of both worlds)

ya taking solace in the fact M1’s performance literally feels like alien tech coming from intel
but man the new form factor esp the larger screen w/ thin bezel + hi res cam (air’s cam usually 💩 in low light) is giving me major fomo
